Used Car Dealers South Africa - Wholesalers !
Wholesale prices of Used Cars is the price that Used Car Dealers pay either the manufacturer of the Car or a Private Seller. Used Car Dealerships will buy then sell the Car to the Public at a Marked-Up price, this is called the retail price. This is the way Car Dealers make a profit on the deal.
There are also Wholesale Used Car Dealers who purchase vehicles from Car Auctions or Private Sellers and then resell the Used Car again to other Used Car Dealers. These Wholesale Used Car Dealers don't usually sell these cars to the general public.
To sell their Used Cars, wholesalers often list their 'Trade-Cover' through Car Auctions. At these Used Car Auctions, participants must be a member of Car Dealer Network in order to bid or purchase Used Cars. It is through these Used Car Auctions that most Car Dealerships place their 'Trade Cover' Used Cars..!
Trading Used Cars that are not moving from their Showrooms and acquiring other Used Cars that consumers in their area may find of greater interest.
These Used Car Auctions tend to feature Used Cars that are either new or a few years old. They are often recent trade-ins and still have existing warranties and offer real value for money.
In general, most wholesale Auctions deal with Used Cars that do not need to be reconditioned and are in good condition. Used Car Dealerships that target consumers in lower price ranges however may opt to buy Used Cars that have a few problems to repair but are also much cheaper.
All wholesale vehicles are purchased "as is" which means that if there are any problems with the Used Car, the dealer who purchased it is completely responsible for fixing or refurbishing the vehicle.
In most cases, wholesalers do not make as large a profit per Used Car as retail Used Car Dealers do. They sell to Car Dealers who usually demand a much lower price so that they can resell it again for a greater profit. Car Dealer Wholesalers usually deal with a large number of Used Cars and buy and sell in several different Provinces in order to make the highest profits.
Although many people may think that wholesalers do not directly affect the consumer market, they actually do make a huge impact on what Used Cars are available to consumers, and they can even affect what the consumer price is.
Most retail Used Car Dealers in South Africa work with one or a few trusted wholesale Car Dealers who provide them with their inventory. And even though wholesalers usually sell directly to Used Car Dealers, their main business is to offer good Used Cars that will have greater appeal to consumers.

Used Car Dealers South Africa
Used Car Dealers in South Africa are beginning to show signs of recovery from the very long recession.
One major Car Dealer chain reported that they sold a record total of second-hand units in year to July 27, 2009..
It retailed 44 824 used vehicles in the year to June, which was 6.4 percent higher than the previous year. New vehicle sales dropped by 31.6 percent to 30 290 units in the same 12-month period, which was much in line with the declining new sales experienced in the overall South African Car Market.
There are signs that the Used Cars South Africa is moving out of the doldrums. There are clear indications that prices for good quality used cars were beginning to firm.
This performance was in stark contrast to the new vehicle market, where total sales reported to the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA in the first half of this year came in at 190 245 vehicles, almost 34 percent lower than the 287 454 units sold in the corresponding period in 2009.
However, motor trade figures released by Statistics SA this month showed that income from used vehicle sales totaled R21.99 million in the first five months of this year, compared with R23.6m in the corresponding period last year and R23.8m a year earlier.
Its reported that an estimated 250 used car dealers South Africa outlets had closed during the past 18 months.
It appears that Car Auctions sales have increased year-on-year off-the-floor retail sales by 65.3 percent to 6 983 motor vehicles.
A substantial proportion of this increase is attributable to the increased number of Cars repossessed by banks, which it sold at knock-down prices during the year.
Car Dealers remain optimistic about the future prospects for the used car market because of the compelling value proposition in the sector, which emanated from a widening gap between new and used car prices.
The ratio of new to used cars sold was 0.67:1 in its past financial year compared to 1.43:1 at the market peak in 2006.
This dramatic change merely amplifies the pronounced swing from new to used cars, which occurred over the last two years due to affordability pressure on consumers,
More and more Used Car Dealers South Africa are using the services of ONLINE SEARCH websites and www.CarDealerNetwork.co.za have grown rapidly as a result of the use by the public to search for Used Cars on AUCTION.!
